The Cisco GLC-SX-MM-RGD is a Rugged 1000BASE-SX SFP transceiver module designed for industrial and harsh environments. It operates over multimode fiber (MMF) at a wavelength of 850nm, supporting distances up to 550 meters. Unlike standard commercial modules, the "RGD" series is specifically built to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations and vibration, making it ideal for industrial Ethernet applications such as factory automation, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and substation networks.
This hot-swappable module features a duplex LC interface and is engineered for high reliability in non-climate-controlled settings. It is fully compatible with Cisco's Industrial Ethernet (IE) switching platforms and other ruggedized networking hardware, ensuring stable Gigabit Ethernet connectivity where standard transceivers might fail.
