The Cisco WS-X6824-SFP-2T is a high-performance 24-port Fiber Gigabit Ethernet line card designed for the Cisco Catalyst 6500-E and 6807-XL Series switches. It is equipped with the advanced Cisco Distributed Forwarding Card 4 (DFC4), which provides hardware-based acceleration for IPv4/IPv6 routing, ACLs, and multicast traffic. This module is ideal for high-density distribution or core layers where secure, fiber-based connectivity is required.
Operating in a 2:1 oversubscribed mode for 10/100/1000 ports or serving as a non-oversubscribed module depending on the supervisor engine used, the WS-X6824-SFP-2T provides significant bandwidth and scalability. It supports a wide range of SFP optics, allowing for flexible deployment across various fiber distances, and features advanced hardware capabilities like TrustSec (IEEE 802.1AE) for end-to-end encryption and security.
